Social Media app, Snapchat, has undergone a recent update in the past months which has left many users angry, signing petitions, finding work-arounds or even logging off the application.

A particular Change.org petition, despite being signed by more than a million users, sparked Snapchat to voice a reaction that they will not be reversing the changes made on the network, and stick by what they have initiated - with even more change to come.

Analyst Mark May wrote: ‘While the recent redesign of its flagship app could produce positive long-term benefits, the significant jump in negative app reviews since the redesign was pushed out a few weeks could result in a decline in users and user engagement, which could negatively impact financial results.’

In the linked article below, there is a distinct message of message of the importance of a good user experience. Snapchat addresses that it will become easier to find the Stories that we want, when we want them. They’ll be able to sort things like Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions - which allows for further personal customisation to one's own experience on the app.

It seems like that the Snapchat we used to know, will remain a thing of the past.
