I'm not so sure it will be the only driving tech, what i do know is it will be a huge contributor to the future of society.
What i 100% agree with in this article is the fact that both AR & IoT will enhance the world we live in and will help us bridge any gaps between the digital and real worlds. We are busy working on a lot of projects that are doing just that, using computer-generated inputs such as sound, video, graphics, data, geo location data and the like to drive engaging user experiences. Put AI and machine learning into the mix and things start to get extremely interesting.
I too know we are in the middle of a huge change and it will be bigger and more influential than any of the revolutions our grandparents or parents went through, the challenge is how do we as businesses and society deal with it.

How many other technological innovations have resulted in similarly drastic change or complete social evolution which was not envisaged at the outset. To name just a few: my grandparents’ generation saw the introduction of the telephone, my parents’ the television, more recently computing and the internet and now, in a time of ever accelerating change, smart phones and all things social. In each case, society was not prepared, for the impact of each of these advances as their applications evolved in unforeseen directions following their introduction.
