McLaren are more than just a powerhouse of automotive engineering, they are a brand, that when you consider Apple ecosystem and stylings, would fit quite nicely together.
I just don't know how accessible the McLaren brand would need to become to venture into everyones garage. They're almost the unaccessible brand, reserved for the elite consumer.... But wasn't it not long ago that we were reading that Apple were pulling out of the race for an Apple car.
If anything, this could mean Apple are about to buy another spaceship HQ. :)
An acquisition would give Apple a small but significant carmaker that has enormous amounts of technological expertise in building drivetrains, vehicle control systems, and navigating complicated supplier-OEM relationships. McLaren also has significant experience working with advanced materials like carbon composites, aluminum, and carbon fiber.
