Chat Bots and Trash Talk

Chat bots and conversational interfaces pose a new set of challenges when it comes to designing user experiences: how do you get the user to engage in conversation and how to you keep them talking? or in this case, how do you get a trash talker to use a bot to help them rub salt in their friends' wounds?

But it would be interesting to see if this takes off with the average sports fan, because despite the new set UX challenges, there's also exciting potential as a way to engage with users while they engage with their friends.

At least in my case, I like to use advanced analytics to remind my friends how much of a spanking my sports team is giving to theirs'

One of the most exciting parts of the Olympic bot was how well it worked in groups. In fact, adoption and interaction were highest among groups, Beckman said: “Of the 500 Skype users that added in the first hour, over 90 percent had multiple teams…so there was a vitality coefficient that was very exciting.”
